Question: "camping" on cod mw2?

When i played counterstrike, if you stayed in the same place for more than a couple of minutes killing people everyone would call you a camper and you woudl get kicked and banned from servers for it. is camping accepted on MW2? ive only just got the game and it seems camping is allowed here? in real life snipers wouldnt go running into battle with a barrat 50cal. they would wait in one place killing everyone from there. thoughts plesase?

The whole camping issue is just fucking ridiculous. Firstly, the whole concept of 'camping' is a grey area. If a player is hanging around the same spot for a short while to pick a few people off, but periodically moves on to a new spot, then that's not really camping, is it? Secondly, and more importantly, who has a right to tell anyone how to play a game? As long as the 'camper' isn't glitching, if someone wants to stay in the same place and shoot people as they go past, then that's their choice. If the players on the opposing team are any good, sooner or later they'll kill the camper anyway, simple as that. People who get annoyed by campers are obviously just dumb enough to keep getting killed. Specifically, In MW2, normal mode gives you a killcam, which helps you know where the camper is in the first place. In hardcore mode it's slightly harder, but the death screen generally points in the direction of where the person who killed you has fired from.

If the server admins cant deal with someone not wanting to be a moving slab of meat then they suck and are playing the wrong game. If you can do it, you should be able to do it. Less QQ more PewPew

People camp in Modern Warfare 2 all the time. Some people may get angry with you for doing it, but there isn't really a good way to kick anyone from a server in MW2, so you can do it if you want.

You won't get banned or kicked from camping (impossible for that), but you would be considered as an annoying newb.

Camping is a legitimate stratagy that people dont like because its effective. they just want to have a dual in an open area because then they have a better chance. their a bunch of pussies and its perfectly fine. just do it no one cares. those who do dont understand that playing tacticaly is far more intelegent than the typical "run-n-gun " style that FPS has seemed to develop as the only stratagy.

It's allowed but generally it's virtually impossible to do so considering when respawning people spawn next to other people that are still alive, so one minute you can be sniping people on the other side of the map, kill them all, and leave one person alive who happens to be behind you. Then they will all respawn by him, which greatly reduces your chances of survival.

You cannot get banned for camping. It is frowned upon by people that enjoy the game, however it depends on what role you are filling. If you are a sniper you are doing your job by securing one spot so no one minds, however you are looked down on by other players if you are using a machine gun for example, and stay in a corner killing people who have no chance of killing you back. And you mentioned a barrat 50cal. I suggest moving around a bit while sniping because people watch kill cam and hunt you down if you stay in one area too long.

As long as you're not spawn camping you should be fine. Any good gamer will find a way to get you no matter where you're camping.

Ok, first off "camping " is the most affective and easiest way to play the game. its a tactic that some players use some other tactics are (in order from Least to most affective): Run and gun Grenade Spamming Riot shield Camping Throwing Knife Running Tac. Knife Lunging Care package Knifing Shotty Camping Regular Camping Then finally the cheapest of them all Sniper Camping all of these are considered tactics and all players are allowed to use them

You won't get banned for camping in Modern Warfare 2, just make sure you change up your tactics every once in a while. Camping is actually a strategic maneuver, sometimes at your advantage, but use sparingly or your camping site will be discovered.

Ok camping just pretty much shows that you can not do anything except sit and hold the left trigger down. If you think thats good then go for it man, people will make fun of you!!! WIll, i honestly make fun of kids that do it. SO im just saying i would not try to camp or else everyone will hate on you!

I personally don't like campers but then again if you were going for a nuke or even a 7 kill streak theres hardly a chance of you getting it without camping... it is annoying if you keep killing ppl sitting in one spot buts its the other ppls fault for running back to get you and working themselves up.

Camping is silly, mainly becuase after going "WTF how did I die " you watch the kill video and then make it your personal mission to find and rape that sniper, possibly by camping in a position, far superior to his.

The best players are able to run smoothly around maps and kill swiftly, camping is for players who aren't that good. They just camp and when they get a high number of kills they tell themselves that they are good. MW2 has much more campers than MW and WaW, especially now with the Heartbeat sensor and whatnot. It's impossible to play Hardcore Search and Destory (or Hardcore Ricochet as it's now titled) in MW2, that's why I play WaW for it. The Heartbeat Sensor should not be allowed. You can use Ninja, but that takes up a perk which is needed.

Its accepted in MW2, but people do not like it. I see people snipe from same positions all the time. The worst ones are the guys with two shotguns and wait at a door behind a box. No you won't get banned for it, but people will see where you camp with the kill cam. So its a bit more fare in MW2.
