Question: What do you define as camping in mw2?
(Posted by: Piano man on 2010-01-30 07:43:55)
Ok I would define it as say sitting under the stairs in highrise waiting for someone just sitting never moving! Hate those guys! But I'm a sniper and say the crane in highrise I sometimes go up there and stay there not with tactical insertion though that is a campers tool! (i use claymores) then when i go up there or that building with the balcony in invasion people complain your camping i don't like when people say that because if your in a good position and getting kills why would you move?! no sense what would you define as "camping ". |

Camping is where u sit and wait 4 your enemies. it doesnt matter where u sit aslong as u stay put it is classed as camping. tbh campin not that good on MW2 cos as soon as u kill sum1 they c where u r on kill cam so stayin put is not good idea. if u sniper the whole point of that class is to stay put. just imagine if we had snipers runnin on battlefield in real war lol. tbh i think the complainers only complain cos they r crap at the game. a good soldier wouldn't get taken out by the same guy multiple times. so just ignore them i would. |

My definition of 'camping' is similar to yours, I believe that people who wait and wait without moving is camping. But i also believe that people who use snipers are campers to, that is if they also wait in one place. So in my eyes and body who waits in one place is camping, no matter what gun they use. |

Camping is a tactic of waiting for enemies to come to the player or useful objects to appear rather than actively seeking them out. |

Okay, so you get your best sniper, flash grenades, and tactical insertions. You go to the one building where the crane DOESN'T lead to, and then you go all the way to the left. There should be a broken landing right there. Jump onto the railing, and it's actually a freakin' makeshift ladder. Climb all the way up, go around the building, walk up the other broken landing, and then climb on top of the building. Put a tactical insertion there. They want to camp? You camp too. Fight fire with fire. |

There's a fine-line between sniping spot and camping spot. I would say you're not camping, especially since you don't have a tactical insertion. Most screaming bitchy whiny kids who complain about you camping will all have different definitions of camping as well. I'd say just keep doing what you're doing. As long as you don't have tactical insertion I'd say your good. Just keep shooting them down. :D |

I don't see why people complain about camping anyway? its exploiting the setup of a map or level by staying within sight of an active area. Totally fair, use teamwork (or a grenade launcher) to kill them, that's why theres team mates, it gives the enemy other people to shoot. (I would camp too if i saw everyone fighting around a central area, and i had a great spot to pick them all off) |
