Best places to go mountain biking?
I'm looking for a place to go mountain biking in the New England area preferably New Hampshire or Massachusetts . I'm a beginner meaning I haven't done downhill off pavement riding but I have done riding off pavement so I would go to a place that has trails that aren't too intense but are still fun and challenging and the place has to have a bike and equipment rental and an easy way to get to the top to start. For example Attittash in New Hampshire but I'm not sure if it's good for a beginner like me.

I have a road bike. Can I turn it into a mountain bike?
I have a Cannondale f500 road bike . I would like to get into mountain biking but am on a tight budget. I was wondering if I could " convert" my f500 into a mountain bike or is it just less expensive and easier to buy a new mountain bike. If it is easier to get a new one? what do you suggest? I would like a bike that can do beginner to advanced trails but is affordable. I am 5'11 and about 150 lbs.thanks for any responses and help
