Question: If you were a wedding planner, would you plan a gay couple's wedding? why or why not?
(Posted by: Princess madeline JPA on 2008-05-03 16:29:37)
If you did, what would your house of Worship say? If you didn't, what would your house of worship say then? |

My house of worship is my home lol and in my home we believe that everyone should be equal and I would love to plan a gay couples wedding ! although I am terrible at organising things :o( |

Of course I would. Do a good job and you're in business for decades. |

Yes, and I don't have a house of worship. I'm fairly certain a wedding planner would plan anyone's wedding as long as they got paid. |

Of course I'd do it. I don't have a house of worship. |

Yes, I would. And like Pangel, my house of worship is my own house...I dunno how my husband would feel, tho. He's not as brilliantly enlightened as me, lol. |

Since I'm gay, of course I would :) House of worship is anything of their choice, or a secular wedding...Anything they like. (((Daughter))) I think you might like this one: answers.yahoo.com/ question/ index;_ylt= As1T0h1d7OaujbmXXSivNI_sy6IX;_ylv= 3?qid= 20080503143312AAAMy01 |

Sure. I have no issue with same-sex marriage; I support it and we already have it here in Canada. I dont have a house of worship; Im an atheist. But if they were permitted to marry in a house of worship i.e. some churches here do allow same-sex marriages then I'd plan it for them there. |

I am going to tell you the truth I helped my friend plan his civil ceremony to his boyfriend and I am good at it too. It's sort of embarrassing, this talent I never knew I had. I would never plan a marriage in my synagogue because I believe the synagogue is a place where women get married to men and vice-versa. (And you know what? I had fun.) |

This is a toughie because I'm just not creative in a Wedding Planner kind of way. Yes, I would. I do not have a house of worship at present. I would think that if THEY were in a Church body they'd want to be married within their Church, otherwise I assume they'd be uninterested in a Church marriage. |

If I was a wedding planner wouldn't I be gay? Sorry, I couldn't help it. But seriously, of course I would. Why not? |

If I was the planner, I would accept the project. As to which house of worship or what religion, that's up to the couple. |

It would be a job. The HOUSE OF WORSHIP, ANY HOUSE OF WORSHIP has no say on who my clients would be or not. If they did they would be stomping on my GOD GIVEN right to choose! |

I have a member of my family who has gay preferences ... so if i was a wedding planner, i'd like to think that, yes i would plan a gay couples wedding. i would simply be doing my job with the same amount of courtesy and attention to detail as i'd do regarding a m/ f wedding couple. the wedding plans would consist of where they wanted to have the ceremony. i would not be the one to tell them that they had to have it at my church. as far as i know, gay couples usually pick churches that are "gay friendly ". if the members of my church "found out " that i plan weddings for "gay couples "... and put me down for it.... then i'd attend a different church who understood that a job was a job and many times personal morals have nothing to do with it. . |

My mom has a couple of times, she's performed commitment ceremonies and so have I (we're ordained and legal). She helped plan my holy union ceremony (I was Christian at the time). We can plan a wedding and reception on a budget, no matter what the genders - LOL |

I would, ONLY for women though as the Torah doesn't forbid women being together, but does forbid men from being together |

Of course I would, even if I personally did not believe in what they were doing myself. I would keep my opinion to myself and also would not tolerate anyone abusing them for having a gay wedding, I would bring in the bouncers and security guards if that happened because I believe that everyone has a right to their own sexuality. |

Of course. 1. There are a ton of churches and temples that do allow gay couples to marry and actually encourage it. 2. If you are a wedding planner, think about your business. You need to do what will help it grow and keep it profitable. This is another wedding you can plan and help to generate revenue for you business. Now if you are opposed to gay marriage, then simply do not do it and let them find a different wedding planner who is happy to have them as a client and let them have the money. |
