Question: Is it better to have a wedding planner or go it alone?
(Posted by: Blake and Tyler on 2008-11-12 20:03:25)
Ok so YAY me (Blake) and Tyler are getting married!! I'm so excited! it going to be a very very long engagement but what I am wondering is with a low income, do you think its better to get a wedding planner to help with the budget, or better to try an do this on our own. I want the wedding to be perfect. we aren't getting married until my relationship with my parents is better so that my dad can walk me down the isle. but anyway what should we do, wedding planner or no? |

They have tons of books that will help you out with panning if you're on a budget. I would go with that. |

When I got married, I planned everything myself...but we used a venue with an owner who acted as a wedding planner. So...I planned the whole thing myself, but he was there at the rehearsal to tell us what else was going to happen. It was nice to have someone experienced there to explain things to me. It was also nice to have someone in control of the rehearsal...otherwise it would have been a complete disaster. Don't know if that helps any, but I thought I'd give me 2 cents. :) |

I'd say that if you have a low budget it'd be better to have a planner who knows your limits and can help you stick by them, with a wedding it can be hard to sit down and tell yourself "no " especially when you want everything to be perfect, it might be a good idea to have a good friend who knows what you are looking for and what your funds are rather than a professional planner because professional planners tend to charge where as a friend particularly someone who's going to be a part of the wedding (ie groomsman or other attendant) will probably be glad to do it free of charge, i know i would for any of my friends, and congratulations by the way, i hope everything works out perfectly for you and Tyler, and i hope your dad will walk you down the isle |
